iGaming and virtual sports are a growing presence in the Brazilian newly regulated market. SiGMA News interviewed Rafael Brunacci, Business Development Director LATAM of Inspired Entertainment, the largest game developer in the country and present in 35 jurisdictions, to talk about their growth in Brazil and the changes in the regulated market.

The games’ developer has introduced several gaming product categories in Brazil, including online slots, virtual sports, and soon, the Hybrid Dealer product portfolio. “We are focusing on developing games that resonate with Brazilian players by utilising themes and mechanics identified through market research and collaboration with local operators. These products address the demand for engaging and culturally relevant gaming experiences, ensuring that Inspired not only offers proven global brands but also tailors its offerings to align with the preferences of the Brazilian audience,” said Brunacci.

Inspired created a comprehensive product roadmap for the localisation of games for the Brazilian market. Notably, Virtual Soccer 3.5 incorporates local soccer stadium atmospheres and audio commentary in Brazilian Portuguese, aiming to enhance the user experience for local players.

According to the Director, Inspired‘s growing presence in Brazil involves appointing local representatives and establishing a specialised team focused on the Brazilian market. “Engaging with stakeholders, including local operators and regulatory bodies, is crucial for addressing the unique needs of this market. With local experts like Sebastian Nogues serving as Head of Business Development for Brazil Interactive and myself overseeing LATAM Virtuals, Inspired has enhanced its operational effectiveness. Moreover, regular visits from senior management have strengthened relationships and provided valuable insights into market dynamics, allowing us to make better product alignments and strategic decisions,” he said.

Asked about the changes that he expects in the newly regulated market, Brunacci commented: “The trust and foundational stability that regulation brings are crucial for fostering more investment, which in turn supports the growth of the local iGaming market.
