Malta celebrated its workforce excellence at the National Worker of the Year 2024 ceremony, where individuals and teams across diverse sectors were recognised for their dedication, innovation, and impact. Under the patronage of President Myriam Spiteri Debono, this annual event showcased the country’s commitment to celebrating work as a pillar of societal progress.

A standout in the evening’s accolades was Eman Pulis, founder of The SiGMA Group, who received The Best Entrepreneur award. Pulis, whose initiatives have put Malta at the forefront of the global iGaming sector, has demonstrated remarkable foresight in creating platforms for technological innovation, economic growth, networking and his initiatives to create a robust global iGaming community. SiGMA’s international influence, growth and outreach exemplifies how entrepreneurial leadership can transcend borders and industries.

Parliamentary Secretary Hon. Andy Ellul said  “Tonight, we honour not only achievement but the unwavering commitment to a better future for Malta and Gozo.” 

Reflecting on his award, Pulis remarked, “This recognition belongs to my team and the global gaming community that continues to inspire us to innovate and grow. Together, we are building bridges that connect talent and opportunity.”

Angela Agius, Chairperson of Premju tal Haddiema, praised Pulis’s win, stating: “I am delighted that Eman was recognised as Entrepreneur of the Year. It is both significant for Malta and well-deserved by him and his team.”

A legacy of dedication

The evening also featured a Lifetime Achievement Award for former President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, honoring her enduring contributions to social equity and public service.

This year’s awards reflected the resilience and ingenuity of Maltese and Gozitan workers, paving the way for a future where talent and commitment drive progress.
